Is Affiliate Marketing Right For You?

Close your eyes and just imagine earning money selling a product just by placing a link or an Ad on your website or in your email. In it simplest forms my friends, that’s "Affiliate Marketing"!

Let's begin with a few definitions of some common terms you will need to know in Affiliate Marketing. An advertiser, or merchant, is the company who is selling a product. An affiliate or a publisher is someone who promotes the product and earns a commission for doing so. (This could be you!) Some affiliate programs have account managers that partner the advertisers with the affiliates and keep track of the sales and commissions.

If you think that becoming an affiliate marketer sounds good to you, the first thing you need to do is either choose a niche or a specific product you want to sell. Next you will need to find an Affiliate Marketing program that sells the product you want to sell or the niche you are interested in. Now there are many different Affiliate Marketing programs out there and some are easier to join than others.

To see if a product or company that you are familiar with offers an Affiliate Marketing program, go to their site and most likely scroll down to the bottom of there mail screen. Look at the lower menu bar for the word "affiliate". Click on that affiliate link, read about there specific program and requirements, and if it fits what your want to promote fill out their application and see if you can be approved. Some companies might just offer open affiliate programs and others you might need to be approved.

If you’re not to sure what type of product you would like to promote or which niche you want to promote, I recommend browsing the participating merchants on the account management service's website. Most offer an affiliate product for almost anything you can think of. Keep trying and you will find an Affiliate Marketing program that fits your needs and the niche you want to promote.

In the beginning, try to pick products or ideas that you are comfortable with and passionate about. When doing your campaigns, it will be much easier to market to your visitors if you can add value to the link you want them to click on. If you are passionate about a product you are promoting it will be much easier to get your prospective customers passionate too. Above all else remember to have fun and enjoy your self. It won’t be easy but the more you learn the better you will get at promoting products and you will be one step closer to making your first sale.

Welcome to the world of Affiliate Marketing!

Have a nice day!
